Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Air Quality Technologist to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Terrace and/or Kitimat offices.

Triton’s multi-disciplinary team comprises environmental professionals specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, soil science, vegetation ecology, environmental assessment, environmental auditing, environmental monitoring/ inspection, and resource management. Successful candidates will work on a number of projects performing tests and gathering data related to air quality and meteorological data. You will also ensure regulations regarding air quality are being followed. The position will begin as a part-time role, with the possibility of expanding to a full-time role.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operating and maintaining air monitoring stations and ensuring analyzer up-time
  • Conducting regular station service checks and acquiring monitoring data
  • Performing regular physical collection of air quality sampling media, following proper chain of custody and provincial sample handling guidelines
  • Performing calibration and zero-span checks of analyzers in accordance with the operational procedures for the stations


Ideal candidates will possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years related experience in operating and maintaining air quality and meteorological monitoring stations
  • Degree or diploma in environmental science or a related discipline
  • Familiarity with the BC provincial monitoring directive and associated regulations
  • Experience with field work, specifically troubleshooting monitoring equipment and analyzers
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
