Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Environmental Monitor to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Vancouver office.

THE ROLE


  • Experienced in various disciplines (water quality monitoring, environmental monitoring/inspection, wildlife assessments, fisheries inventories, fish salvage, vegetation, wildlife inventories,)
  • Implementing Environmental Protection Plans (EPPs) and work plans to ensure compliance, including recommendations to resolve non-conformances
  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant changes in environmental legislation
  • Conducting environmental monitoring and inspection during construction activities
  • Implementing and reviewing erosion and sediment control measures
  • Recording data and observations in an accurate and well-organized manner
  • Preparing technical reports detailing environmental assessments and monitoring activities
  • Preparing regulatory approval, permit, and licence applications
  • Providing assistance with cost estimates and proposals
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors
  • Providing technical leadership within a team environment
  • Promoting safety culture and complying with safety protocols
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and contractors
  • Working collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture


SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS


  • BSc. or equivalent in biology, environmental sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years work experience and qualifies as a QEP (Qualified Environmental Professional, an asset)
  • Sound knowledge of field techniques and regulatory standards necessary for conducting surveys in a variety of service sectors (i.e., water quality, fisheries inventories and salvage, wildlife assessments, environmental monitoring/inspection)
  • Thorough understanding of applicable environmental legislation, regulations, and policies to ensure project-specific compliance
  • Adept in the operation and maintenance of required field equipment
  • Ability to identify and mitigate issues rapidly to ensure compliance within an active construction work environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, contractors, agencies, and co-workers
  • Demonstrated field experience leading environmental teams
  • Effective technical writing skills, including reporting and document review
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
