Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic junior field biologists to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Prince George office.

Triton’s multi-disciplinary team comprises environmental professionals specializing in aquatic and terrestrial biology, soil science, vegetation ecology, environmental assessment, environmental auditing, environmental monitoring/ inspection, and resource management. Successful candidates will be responsible for delivering the technical components of environmental projects and providing support to Project Managers. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with water quality, fish, wildlife, and vegetation assessments
  • Environmental monitoring of construction work activities
  • Implementing and reviewing erosion and sediment control measures
  • Recording data and observations in an accurate and well-organized manner
  • Preparing technical reports detailing environmental assessments and monitoring activities
  • Conducting fish salvage and isolation during instream works




Ideal candidates will possess the following skills, traits, and qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in biology, ecology, or related degree
  • Membership or eligibility for membership in the College of Applied Biology
  • Willing to work 10-12 hours per day and up to 14-day field shifts
  • Physically fit and able to conduct field work in all weather conditions
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid Class 5 BC driver’s licence and Level 1 first aid training




Although not required, the following would be considered assets for this position:

  • Experience conducting fish, wildlife, and ecosystem assessments
  • Experience in environmental monitoring for construction projects
  • Ability to identify fish and plant species
  • Knowledgeable with B.C. environmental regulations and legislation
  • Experience operating 4x4 trucks and ATVs/UTVs, with valid training certifications
  • Environmental Monitoring, Electrofishing, and H2S Alive certifications
